The Location: Hana, Hawaii

Hana is not just a destination; it's a living canvas that hold stories of the past, celebrates the present, and invites you towards a future aligned with nature. Nestled along the famed Road to Hana—a 64-mile stretch of picturesque road that winds along Maui’s northern coast—Hyatt-Hana Resort is located in Hana town, where guests will find a blend of aloha spirit and coastal charm.

Our secluded luxury hotel is near renowned beaches, tropical forests and waterfalls, and the majestic Pacific Ocean.

The Yoga

Elevate your practice with twice daily yoga sessions, each thoughtfully curated to highlight various styles of yoga. Our ocean-view yoga shala is a sanctuary for self-discovery, where each breath leads you closer to your authentic self. Each guest will be offered a private class with one of our teachers, and each teacher will offer a specialized workshop during the week.

In this sacred space, you'll explore your inner landscape as well, acknowledging the layers of your own past, experiencing the fullness of the present, and envisioning a future aligned with your truest self.

Meet Your Yoga Retreat Leaders

  • Discovering your own creativity starts with an authentic intention to be mindful. I incorporate this into my teaching.

My classes weave together intense physical challenges with lightheartedness and complete surrender.

In 2015, I completed my 200-hour teacher training with Ryan and Stephanie Besler. I hope to share the empowerment and healing I found in yoga with my students. I make my classes powerful yet therapeutic while working proper alignment so that students leave feeling good physically and mentally.

  • Hello, I'm Justin, a dedicated yoga instructor with over 10 years of teaching experience. After encountering severe anxiety, I discovered yoga 23 years ago, and it became my sanctuary. My journey led me to become an E-RYT 500 certified teacher, having completed my initial 200 and 300-hour trainings with Three Sisters Yoga in NYC. I also hold a 200-hour certification as a Katonah Yoga teacher and have delved deeper with over 2400 advanced training hours in diverse modalities like yin yoga, restorative yoga, traditional Chinese medicine, and yoga for spinal health.

My classes reflect my belief that yoga is a powerful tool for cultivating joy. Combining playfulness with soulfulness, I create an environment that fosters personal exploration and insights.

In addition to practicing yoga for over 19 years, Justin is also the proud owner of Sol Seek.

  • I discovered yoga in 2017 after my best friend became a teacher and during a difficult time after a breakup. I quickly discovered the healing power of the practice. I completed my 200-hr YTT in 2018 with Bodhi Yoga Academy, where I studied the eight-limb Ashtanga yoga method and primary series.

In my own movement practice and teaching, I call on the physical strength and mental discipline that Ashtanga cultivates while finding a sense of playfulness, creativity, and in-the-moment intuition.

I have a passion for taking things slow and getting grounded. My life outside of yoga consists mostly of playing in the ocean, gardening, and reading psychology books.

How we’re giving back and centering local communities:

Listening to the Land is more than a getaway—it's a profound commitment to the spirit of Hana and the land.

While the experience itself is valuable, it’s also a vital contribution to the recovery of Maui, supporting over 65% of the local community who are employed at our resort. Your presence transcends a luxurious escape; it becomes a meaningful investment in community resilience.

We will express our gratitude to the land with a meaningful volunteer excursion day, a shared opportunity to give back and contribute to the well-being of the sacred land.
