Santa Barbara yoga teacher, Michelle

Michelle Rousseau

She/Her

Bio: I have studied yoga with teachers in India and the US and hold my E-RYT 500 certification with Yoga Alliance. I have been teaching public, private, and corporate yoga in Santa Barbara since 2014. My practice and teaching style reflects the various types of yoga in which I am trained (Ashtanga, vinyasa, therapeutic, and restorative) as well as my background.

My love for and desire to understand the body and the healing power of movement also led me to pursue a master’s degree in somatic depth psychology and to become a certified personal trainer. I am passionate about holistic wellness and believe that to be healthy one must tend to all the levels of the body - subtle to the gross, spirit to matter.

My classes are typically slow, strong, and meditative. I aim to challenge students to go deeper into the poses and deeper into their own experiences. Expect to be encouraged to play and also to challenge your comfort zone in my classes.
